Title: Sending message from identity
Post by: bcvtab on November 16, 2013, 02:37:27 pm
Hi,

I have added identities to my mail account but when I send a mail from identity, the from appears to have come from main account rather than from the identity.
Eg:-

say I have  a mail ID   test
and test has an email alias   called  alias

when I compose the mail from alias, I get the recipient mail as From:test whereas I expect it to have come from alias

Am I doing anything wrong here ? Is there a setting I am missng ? please can someone point me in the right direction ?

thanks

You can read this message: http://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=3989.msg20883#msg20883
and then, the 3 pinned threads about creating aliases in Gmail in this forum.

Sometimes mail servers rewrite the From line -- so even if AquaMail sends from an identity, it gets changed to the account.

Specifically, Hotmail is known to do this.

It always uses the "main identity" that can be selected in Hotmail web mail. That's a single identity selected at any given time.

This is not specific to AquaMail.
