Title: Limits on number unread reported by aqua mail
Post by: beaky on November 11, 2013, 11:09:27 pm
Well, I thought that I understood the figures reported in the left panel, e.g. the leftmost figure is the number unread.
Now I am not so sure.
Should I be looking to my server or to aquamail for the apparent limit of 1600 unread.
You say "1600 unread!!!!!!!". Well, yes, as I explained in an earlier post, I migrated something under 20000 emails to IMAP prior to using aquamail and many were historical " semi spam" , that is, emails from companies which I have done business with but did not need to read at once or maybe at all, but I have not deleted.
However many new emails arrive, the number on the left never rises above 1600. It does not seem to result in lost mails. So is this number the number unread on the server, or the number of headers loaded to aquamail that are unread?
If the latter, is it the case that headers of even quite old unread emails are hanging about and stopping newer "read" headers staying in the app?

I keep wanting to add an option to only report on actual new messages, but other things keep coming up....

Can you use web mail to mark all those messages read once and for all? You'd only need to do it once...
