Title: duplicate messages
Post by: aklfishboy on December 16, 2012, 10:26:26 am
Hi been trying your app for a few weeks and like it very much.   The only issue i have is all my emails seem to be duplicated, ie an email comes in and shows as new I open it and then it shows again?  Any ideas?  Thanks

Is your account @gmail?

Gmail's server represents every message label as an IMAP folder, and in addition, incoming messages appear in the default INBOX as well as the "[Gmail]/All mail" folder.

Turning off the syncing of "[Gmail]/All mail" in the account's Folders and Options would be one way to resolve this.

I'm having bascially the same issue except I'm seeing 3 or more of each email.  I'm not syncing with [Gmail]/All Mail.  Any other fixes?

Thanks

Ok, not syncing with "[Gmail]/All mail", but is this a @gmail account?

Do these messages have multiple labels in Gmail's web mail or the native Gmail app?

I'm having the same issue as well as having emails I've deleted reappearing every time the app checks for new mail. I've got it setup to not sync the deleted folder and I've also got it to delete from the server immediately. It's getting rather old having to redelete 200+ emails every time I check my mail. I'm using the paid app and am about to uninstall it.

If your Deleted folder is not set up to sync, it should be emptied (purged) in the app from time to time.

As for older messages showing up - please try increasing the account's "messages to keep" in its Options and Folders.
