Title: Terrific app
Post by: someone on August 19, 2013, 05:03:20 pm
I'm a long time user of k9 mail and wanted to tell you Aquamail is just terrific! Love it and purchased it.

Here is a basic question: what are starred messages and what are they used for?

Bravo and thank you.

I asume you are using GMail.
Starred messages are marked messages which for example are important to you. Those will appear also, beside in the Inbox, in the folder (GMail label) Starred.

Ah! I don't use Gmail and was therefore not familiar with the concept.

Thanks.

Actually, not just Gmail... (the separate folder for starred messages is unique to Gmail, though).

Starred messages are a standard feature of IMAP, and sync with the server (and other mail apps), so you can see them there (depending on their support of this feature, of course).

For POP3, they're not synced, but my app stored them locally.

Personally, I use stars to mark messages needing a follow-up.
