Hi is there a way of labelling emails the same as my Gmail account?

As far as i know, no.
There maybe a workaround. Labels in Gmail are folders in email applications. So set up the labels in Gmail webpage. They will appear in AquaMail. Then you have the possibility to move emails to those folders/lables.

I have the same question.  I would like to label emails with AquaMail without actually moving them to another folder.  This way they stay color coded like in gmail, but stay in my inbox.  Is there any way to do this?

There isn't, sorry. This needs a fair amount of custom code for GMail, and I'm not ready to commit time to that just yet.
