Title: Version 1.2.4.23
Post by: Kostya Vasilyev on June 07, 2013, 02:26:11 am
Bug fixes, server compatibility fixes, and...

+ "Color chips" for image-less contacts, like in latest Gmail, can be turned off in settings (under Message list). Android 3.0+.

* Fixed search results not going "back" to original folder.

+ Settings for recent folders: how many to show, how long to keep on the list.

[ link removed: this version had a crashing bug ]

How did the different chips with different letters get assigned? It seams the letters to the senders name if available, if not to the first letter of the email address, correct?

Color chips are nice, but what I would really like are color chips for emails sent by someone in Contacts where there is no image assigned, and the "?" for unknown sender (i.e. email sent by a non-contact).

Thanks!

There is an option to show question marks for contacts who are not in Contacts, it's in the app's settings under Contacts.

It should be noted that Gmail appears to save everyone who you reply to in web mail, and then we have Google+ pulling lots of people in.

The color is chosen randomly, and will stay the same over time. As for the letter, well, yes, it's the first letter of the contact's name if specified, or else the first letter of the email address.

Now the important part:

This version has a critical bug in new code, it crashes when going Back from a global search (search in account list: which looks in all loaded messages in all accounts / folders).

I'll be posting a new version with a fix within an hour, as a new topic in this section of the forum.
