Title: Touch features not working
Post by: Blueskyexecutive on May 28, 2013, 11:13:12 am
I used to be able to just touch properly formatted addresses and phone numbers and they would open either maps or the dialer respectively. Now when I touch the body of the email I have to manually highlight the text, copy it, open the respective app and paste it. Is this a change in Aqua or a change in Android? Any clues?

For phone numbers, some devices (HTC) did / do highlight phone numbers automatically, but other manufacturers didn't seem to.

It may have something to do with Apple patents and the lawsuits between Apple and HTC, and possibly with the recent Android versions (probably for the same reasons).

I have it on my to-do to detect and highlight phone numbers.

Now, addresses (http://) should work already, if you have a sample message where it's not detected, please contact me at kmansoft / at sign / gmail / dot com.
