Title: 1.2.3.19
Post by: Kostya Vasilyev on April 19, 2013, 03:00:56 am
Version 1.2.3.19

+ A little spring cleaning: old-fashioned blue gradient UI elements gone (account list, message list).

+ Right-to-left text support (check settings under Look and Feel).

+ New "Look and Feel" setting: tap an account to open its Inbox (icon on the left to expand / collapse).

Dirk, this has the new inline preload choices we'd discussed. Splitting into 3G / EDGE is still in my plans, was just a little busy for the last two days...

On the design changes, even though they are relatively minor... It looks cleaner, but perhaps the account list needs more rhythm to emphasize the accounts, I'm thinking about making the item dividers thicker just between the accounts (like the app already does on tablets).

Excellent!
Love the new (old) reload button and the way unread messages are counted. Perfect regarding design and running flawless so far.
Set keep-alive of IMAP push to zero, lets see how this works out.

Nice. I like  :)

For Arabic? Or does it have any use for non-Arabic languages?

Nice. Makes it easier.

I am perfectly happy with the current version. Afaic no need to split the settings.

Yep. Looks brilliant.
Do you have any translations to do?
Why don't you just post new language strings with the link to the new version, so that the community can translate asap?

Love,
Dirk.

Nice.

How do I install this?

Alternatively, when will you put the latest update on the google play store for easy updating?

Really nice, but I think that the grey for the date separator is too similar to the button bar.
And if possible, I would make that line (date) a little smaller.

In any case nice changes.

@rezaf_2000 - just download and install the file using the direct link above, if desired... it should be header for Play soon...

@jcasares - yeah, it's similar, but it's a little different, there are only so many shades of grey, you know... how do you mean "smaller" -- thickness or length?

@dirk - Arabic and Hebrew, primarily.

Translations -- great suggestion. Here they are for DE. Please keep the XML tags ("<string>" and "</string>"), the actual value is between them...

old-fashioned blue gradient UI elements gone (account list, message list).

I'm not so keen on the plainer grey Date dividers in the messages list, they don't show up as well as the previous darker blue ones did. (I'm using Light theme with Switched Backgrounds)

And what's wrong with subtly graduated tones anyway? If plain rectangular boxes with no texture was what I wanted I'd have bought a Windows 8 device. :) :)

Windows 8? I have one of those.

The gradients just looked too old-fashioned to me, like before Holo.

Any suggestions on improving? It seems like a number of people are happy about these changes.

Another "das experiment": http://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=1054.0

The blue headers are back, but without those old-fashioned gradients.

Thanks, date headers are much more visible now.

(And hey, I can live without the gradients, I just didn't have anything against them either. :) )

Kostya, thanks sooo much for including this!!  I'm going to test it out now.

You have, without a doubt, the best email app on Android.  I've tried most of them.  And as a dev you surpass them all.

UPDATE: Glorious!

Oh, I'd just say - not the worst Android developer in the world, I hope :)

Glad you like this enhancement!
