Title: Proper method to delete
Post by: Andy_A on December 23, 2013, 03:49:09 am
I am new to this forum and just installed AquaMail this past week on  my new Samsung Galaxy S4.  My thoughts of the product so far are very positive. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with the question below.

I have a business email account set up for IMAP.  In "Account Options" I chose "Hide in app, keep on server" under deleting messages.  If I receive a message and choose to "move to deleted" the message is deleted from the server.  I chose "move to deleted" to allow me to view in the future if required.  What am I doing wrong!

Thank you

Well, if your intent is to not delete from the server, then you should be using "hide". When it's set as the default for an account (which sounds like you've already done), the app's lower left delete icon will change to reflect that.

The logic of "Delete now" and "Move to deleted" message deleting methods won't be affected by your choosing "hide" as the default.

They'll continue to delete messages from the serer, and will continue to be available in message lists, just not as an icon, but in the menu.

The logic behind this is that one message deleting method is chosen as the default and easily accessible via an icon, but the other two can still be used, for flexibility.
