Same here, also loading images from the address book takes long or don't even load.

Same here with the images. Some don't show up. But on top of that it takes a lot longer to load all those new icons/avatars from senders. Looks nice and fancy but may be counter-productive if they're slowing the whole process.

Seems to me the lag in everything else showed up about the same time as those new icons. Is there a way to turn them off, or choose the old simpler style?

Has as anyone else noticed recently that AM is very slow to recover from any action. For examples:

Open a message, read it, then use back button to return to message list - I get a blank black screen and can count to five before the message list shows up again.

Swipe to delete a message and again for a count of five, I get a blank square where the message used to be before the message list finally shuffles itself to close the gap. Same for multi-select and bulk delete. Lots of blank squares for a count of five.

Open message, just glance at it quickly, don't scroll through it, use back button to return to message list, still get a blank screen, but for maybe a count of only 2-3.

Open app, blank screen for maybe a count of three.

VERY LAGGY. Anyone have any idea what's going on or how to fix it.

NO OTHER APP, absolutely no other app on my phone acts like this. They're all quite snappy.

Samsung S20+, US model w Snapdragon 865 5G, Android 13

General Discussion / Re: Open links in default browser?
« Last post by mkgtu on April 25, 2024, 08:43:08 pm »
That's long been a gripe of mine. If the links open IN Aquamail, it's ALWAYS Chrome, even though that's not set as my default browser, which is Kiwi.

The only way to get it to use your default browser is to change a setting. Go to Message View and UNCHECK "Open web links in Aqua Mail".

That will cause all links to open in your default browser in a new and separate browser window. No more just using the back button to return to your email list. You'd have to use the Recents button and select Aqua Mail again.

A pain all around. I complained about this years ago to no effect. Other email apps respect your default browser choice. Is Aqua Mail getting kickbacks from Google?

Gmx accounts again forcing pwd resets and keeps getting flagged.

Off topic. This thread is talking about Outlook/Hotmail accounts.

On fairemail it works without resets or getting flagged. So something on aquamail causing this. Latest versions as of today.

Hello,

We have intensified the issue and it should be resolved in the next version of Aqua Mail.

How do I... / Account Icons (not email icons) Do Not Appear to Update
« Last post by cbjacques on April 21, 2024, 04:12:30 pm »
I have multiple email accounts which I use Aqua-Mail with.  One of them is a simple IMAP server.  The email address associated with that account in Aqua-Mail has a picture in my Contacts list.  I have multiple contacts lists (associated with different Gmail accounts), and I have ensured that this email address is not duplicated on them.  So, there is only one contact which has this email address, and that contact has a picture.

Yet, Aqua-Mail insists on displaying a color chip instead of the account picture.

I cannot get Aqua-Mail to update the image.  I even tried creating a duplicate account with the same email to cause an update and that did not work.

Hello all,

The source of the avatars is Clearbit and Gravatar.

We have identified a potential bug connected to the "Replace contact names" setting located in Aqua Mail settings > Contacts. Disabling it will fix the issue of wrong contact names.

Hello all,

@Martin

So Pro users should never see that folder anyway.

Correct

We have identified a potential bug connected to the "Replace contact names" setting located in Aqua Mail settings > Contacts. Disabling it will fix the issue of wrong contact names.

We are also looking into the issue of "wrong avatar logos" so stay tuned.
