Title: AM does not load images
Post by: rssg on June 29, 2017, 12:41:25 am
Since some days no embedded images are loaded by AM. I have not changed any settings. What is the reason for that? How can the error be fixed?

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that this has nothing to do with Aqua and is caused by something else -- a connectivity issue, an "anti-virus" or "privacy protection" app, or even something I can't even imagine.

Feel free to forward a sample message to support / at / aqua-mail / dot com.

It would be ideal if you could do this as an ".eml attachment" (where the original message is sent as is), this can be done in e.g. Outlook for Windows if you use that.

Second best is to get the message's "original source code" (the headers, the text, everything, as is) and also send as an attachment. Can be done in Gmail web mail, click the icon next to the "reply" icon and select "show original".

I have found out that the problem only occurs when I use wifi. Not when I'm on mobile data. Any idea?

WiFi vs. mobile data makes absolutely no difference to the app.

Linked images are "passed through" to a piece of Android technology (called Android System WebView) as part of the message's overall HTML content -- and then that "Android System WebView" loads the images, not Aqua.

If this WiFi is a corporate network - could be a deliberate security policy.

Its not a corporat network. Tested the same mails with K9 - this works...

And btw, have you already checked app settings -> message view -> turn OFF "show only from known"

and app settings -> network -> WiFi -> turn ON "show images"

???

I did load it into one of my accounts and checked in Aqua -- those linked images worked fine.

Do you use any "anti-virus" or "privacy protection" apps? There was a user here on the forum who was having trouble with linked images -- and then discovered that the issue was caused by just such an app.

Not any kind of this apps.
I installed for testing K9-Mail and there is everything working. Images are displayedon wifi-connection and on mobile-connection.

PS: My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S6 with android 7.

I uploaded your message into one of my accounts - fetched it with Aqua - images loaded just fine.
