i have tge latest version on my nexus 7 (5.1.1), and my galaxy s5 and i have it set so when i delete a message, it goes to the next. . About 1 out of 10 or so will not jump to the next, but back to the message list.
Anyone else seeing this?

Are you deleting messages one after another really, really fast?
-
Maybe 5 seconds between deletes... (more or less; Some would be 2-3 seconds, while I might dwell on others)
-
Ok, I can verify that i can reproduce this on my nexus 7 android 5.1.1, and my galaxy s5 5.0. . I can wait 15 seconds between messages and it may go 7 or 8 and then consistently bomb back to the message list. .
Never saw this on previous versions....

@telrod11
Can you try "peeking" at the next message (swiping a little)? To see if it's there?
My theory is that the app isn't keeping up with loading the next message -- so when you delete, it has no message to go to.
If that's the case, you should also not be able to "peek swipe" there.
Now, five seconds is a really long time... Are your messages often unusually large? Say, hundreds of kilobytes? Does the app's UI performance seem sluggish in general? If so, can you try Menu -> Compact the database in the app's main window?

Compacting seems to be the trick. . Any chance of getting this as an automated feature then?
Never experienced this before....
-
It used to be -- but when run in the background, there is a very small, but real, risk of data loss (the app's database becomes corrupted).
So it's a trade-off... Developing for Android is like dancing on a mine field :)

Ok, no problem. . Thanks
