Title: Editing quoted text
Post by: paras.desai on January 15, 2017, 09:48:04 pm
I tried to edit a quoted text in a mail while replying.  Surprisingly, it did not even allow to add any words.

This did not happen in all mail. When I tried to edit /insert word in a small mail, it allowed, but when I tried to insert a word in a long mail (though mail size was not more than 64 kb),  it did not allow.

Is this normal?

Did you actually tap the pencil icon to move the quoted message into the edit area?

Well, I'm not aware of any limitations in Aqua Mail's code, esp. at the 64 KB boundary.

In fact, I just tried a 70 KB message on a fairly old phone (Sony Z3 Compact), and was able to edit.

Perhaps some sort of device specific optimization added by the manufacturer into "their" Android? The only thing I can think of...

That is surprising.  I have LG G4,  ANDROID 6, perhaps LG does not like me editing messages!!!
