Title: Evaluation questions
Post by: Brahman on May 11, 2013, 12:31:34 am
Hello,

I just started evaluating AM as an alternative to k9.

Your app is really beautiful and well thought out!

Could you please answer some questions:

When I am looking at the email text and it is too small for me right now I have to pinch zoom and then double tap for word wrap.

There must be a quicker way of doing this by having word wrap on all the time which I have probably overlooked. Also maybe there is a way to set the fonts so that I can read all my mails in the same size. I have found the view > larger font and smaller font settings but the larger font setting is greyed out. I have a tablet with a high resolution screen, maybe your apps font settings are not yet adjusted to that.

My setup is that I have several Gmail accounts and I access them by imap from my Android devices and by pop via Pegasus Mail from my PC, because I like to have 20 years of emails all in one secure place.

One problem I have not been able to solve with k9, which I hope your app may handle, is that when I reply to an email from android, Pegasus Mail will not download it so that it can be archived. I know I can do a bcc to self but then it gives my name as a sender instead of showing "To: Recipient" which is important for my correct filtering etc to work in Pegasus.

I would be greatful for your suggestions.

Aahh, Pegasus Mail!!! I remember that one!!!

1 - You can adjust the font size in any of the app's "modes" / "windows" using the hardware volume keys, or the menu.

2 - My app can upload sent messages to IMAP servers. For most servers, this is configured automatically (using IMAP XLIST extension).

The rest, i.e., downloading it from there, is up to the other mail app(s).
