Due to Google restrictions we are forced to revert the way Aqua Mail handles OAUTH2 for Hotmail, Yahoo and Yandex. We will implement the new modernized OAUTH2 for them in the near future but it will take some time.
Now if you try to add Yahoo account, you should go to your web mail under Account Security and turn on the second slide box on the bottom right.
You can find more details related to the verification here

We are very sorry for any inconvenience.

Thx.
But I see no changes regarding unwanted connections to Adjust. Many, many attempts to connect and to send data.
Please remove sending such data in pro version.
Yes, we will find a solution for this.
When will we see this solution?

@Nadejda Fudulska
I have also purchased AquaMail Pro years ago directly from Google Play. MobiSystem promised Adjust call home fix in the next app update. This is the next update and again AquaMail made after launch 29 connections to https://app.adjust.com. 29 connections!!!! This is a typical malware behavior. Shame!
So MobiSystem publicly lies to users. Should we inform Google and Bureau of Consumer Protection about it?

I don't like trackers as much as the next person. But nowhere in the original thread does Mobi say adjust.com will be removed in the "next update." All that was said that that they "will find a solution..."

Tired of these games, really! Switching to FairEmail which is now out of beta and available on Play Store. Is not as colorful as Aqua but it is open source and has a committed, dedicated developer.

Did You see the attacment? If not, then copy/paste from GooglePlay:

New update contains new data Tracker (Adjust), even in pro version. Disabling of user statistics in settings does not help. No information in changelog .
MobiSystemsJune 7, 2019
Hi Olaf, Yes, it's actually something that we'll fix in the next app update. Please excuse us for the inconvenience it was unintentional on our. This new "tracker" does not track, store or share your info. It simply checks for your app license - Pro or Free. Again it will be fixed in a following update.

Which app are you using to monitor that actually?

But they have left themselves some wiggle-room. In the first sentence it does indeed state "in the next app update." But in the last sentence they state "in a following update."
Either way, a comment from Mobi with a confirmed fix date would be more appealing than saying "sometime in the future" when hopefully the users will forget about it.

True, "next update" statement is like "buzz off". :) But we, users don't forget and keep pushing them.
-
Hm, that's very strange, because my Firewall NetGuard doesn't report any connections to adjust.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190622/39669bcf3733aee8b120929e99f7334d.jpg)

AquaMail team,
If you need more money, just ask! I will pay more, but i will not accept my email app sending data without my knowledge.
I quit Gmail and i will quit AquaMail.

Chill оut every one. Again what's the problem. We are making a very critical fix at the moment that it's not Adjust related. Adjust isn't as crucial as this issue related to the new imposed Google policy. I bet Fasmail and all email clients have a hard time dealing with this too.
We said we will fix Adjust and we will. Why nobody is concerned that Google uses "security" to try and crush the competition? Big tech leaches user data in ways you couldn't even imagine and now Aqua Mail's the bad guy- good luck with that.
I said it before- to criticize is good to help us build a better app but accusations of dishonesty is a bit too much. Check what happened to ES Explorer.
-
@michael can you please explain what is " the new imposed google policy"?
-

Sorry, but Your response is pointless. Did You read our messages at all? If not, please do and don't offend us asking about the problem. Instead of admitting quilt You are accusing Google about some other, not tracker related stuff etc.
The facts are:
1) MobiSystems added tracker into v1.20.0-1456
2) MobiSystems did't tell users about it.
3) Tracker calls home for any version, pro and free, no matter when, or how it's brought.
4) MobiSystems promised fix the problem in the next app update.
5) v1.20.0-1462 is the next release after v1.20.0-1456 and tracker is not fixed.
So who is now dishonest?
-
I'm tired of this diatribe, you have dozens of apps on your phone that count you even how much hair you have in your ass. And here we are making a huge case. If they said they take it off they will take it off if you don't like it, change apps. I, on the other hand, expect Activesync to be implemented, this is the real turning point.

nadir husain, frankly Google forces us to go through a complex verification process. Nadia has provided a link where there's plenty of info: https://support.google.com/cloud/answer/9110914?hl=en&ref_topic=3473162
We have to make some changes about how Ouath2 works and we need to make it fast so all of our resources are concentrated in this effort. We'll deal with everything else after this review is completed.

Michael, thanks a lot for this "behind the scene" information.

Thanks Michael

@michael: this is the kind of interaction and engagement that we need. Thank you!

It sounds like you had to remove OAUTH for Yahoo / Yandex / Hotmail.
I checked the link, and to me it looks like Google's new requirements only apply to:
- OAUTH tokens obtained from Google
- Used to access user data residing on Google's servers
- In Google's services
I don't see (maybe I'm wrong) anything which would prevent you from using OAUTH tokens issued by _other_ mail services, to access user data residing on those _other_ servers.
Or is that the case? Maybe you could share more detail, don't think it would harm anyone or disclose "too much" since it's rooted in a document (that Google link) which is available to anyone.
Or drop me a personal email or maybe ask one of the developers to do this - I'm just curious, it seems so weird that Google would care about (and ask you to stop) the app using OAUTH with non-Google services.
Like I said, I'm genuinely curious about this one.
-
PS - OAUTH is not a Google specific technology, not invented or owned by them, so I'm actually double curious.
-
Hi Kostya,
I am very happy to see you in the forum.
Regarding your Oath remark, you are absolutely right, the issue is related solely to Google services and Oath is not invented by Google. The current issue we are facing is only for Gmail. We don't have this issue with other email providers.
-
Hi Michael, so why did you disable oauth for the other services in this release?
-
We had to change how we handle Oath for Google that affected all email providers. We are working on restoring Oath for them too.
-
ok good luck to you;)
