Title: How do I configure Spam folder of Gmail
Post by: nica on December 14, 2015, 02:45:00 pm
Hi, how to configure the spam folder?

If I set "Spam, no sync", I will to check manually, if there is new spam. Annoying.
If I set "Sync with folder", then I will have it synced, but the menu item"delete all" has gone. Why?

My goal:
For checking purpose: Sync automatically the header data of the spam mails in spam folder and show new counter for new spam
Then: "Delete all"

Thx for help

Thank you for response. But I don't understand.

I can select (translated from my german localization):

- Sync folder --> menu item "delete all" will be gone for the folder
- Treat as Spam (german: "Als Spam behandeln")  --> I will have to sync spam manually in order to see what happened in spam folder)
- Spam, do not sync --> I will have to sync spam manually in order to see what happened in spam folder)

The option "Als Spam behandeln" should be sufficient to treat this folder to sync automatically

@mikeone:
Thank you very much, this helped a lot.

"Sync as spam" was translated badly. Additionally I forgot to enable the counter in spam folder settings in AquaMail, so I could not the see the new quantity of spam mails.

Solved :).

@nica:
Fine.
Do you have any suggestions for a better  - short - German translation (for both phrases):

• Sync as spam
• Sync as archive

Thanks a lot for your note.

Here we go (information about syncing was missing in translation). Lost in submenus ;)  I finally found the language setting. So I could switch to english, it was much easier to configure the app.

Your question:

Original string:
Sync as spam
German string:
Als Spam synchronisieren

Original string:
Sync as archove
German string:
Als Archiv synchronisieren

In general:
German translation of AquaMail is inconsistent, very different in quality. Is there an online translation platform? If wanted I could help (20 years experience in software translations). Of course there a many strings... ;)

@nica:
Translations are mostly crowd-sourced.
I am sure Kostya and all German-speaking users would be grateful for all and any improvements and contributions you can make:

(And that's why Mikeone was asking you for suggestions.)

As mentioned by StR you are very welcome to post your suggestion(s) right here in the forums section "Translations" if you will find any inconsistencies... 8)

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Ok, thanks.

Seems that there is no list of strings, which could be edited?

Sure, Kostya could provide you with a variety xml files if you really want to go through all these strings.

However, as mentioned by our friends from the Netherlands "... it was a hell of a job to do and I wouldn't do such an amount of work again very soon..."  8) 8)

@nica -- if you're interested, drop me an email at kmansoft / gmail and I'll send you the original source XMLs

That's why I asked for an common online platform (like crowdin.com). I don't want to build the translation from scratch ;). As i said, qualitity of existing translation is different for me.

@Kostya:
As I wrote here (http://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=3632.msg22986#msg22986), I will need some time to find out wether AquaMail an my worklflow will find a way together. If so, I will get in touch. (And I hope, that the XMLs contain english and current german strings ;))

As happy as I would be to use an existing service -- crowdin or whatever -- I haven't found one that fits.

- They're all very very expensive (priced per number of strings and languages)

- And typically don't handle Android specific resources (string arrays and plurals) very well or at all

I can send you the actual XML files (English, German, any other languages you'd like to see) and then you'll just need a text editor, that's all.
