Title: Disadvantage after recent update
Post by: NL0031 on July 01, 2014, 06:14:13 pm
Aquamail is absolutely great. Just after the recent update it needs more actions to get back to Smart Folder, which annoys me as I use this all the time. As I'm kind of drowning in the overkill of options, does someone know if there is a setting to get back to Smart Folder in a very fast way?

Suggestion: get a simplified version that everyone can understand, sooo many options it's great but for some a disadvantage.

Cheers!

Advanced setting option could solve this. If user enable it, user will get more options.

Um, huh?

Do you mean the Navigation drawer is getting in the way?

If you're used to tapping the "<" icon, well, yes, it's a different icon in the same place now, and it opens the nav drawer.

That's Google's standard "modern" design that so many users want:

https://developer.android.com/design/patterns/navigation-drawer.html

But you can still use the phone's back button (real or shown near the bottom of the screen, depending on the device).

Or just turn the whole thing off: app settings -> look and feel

Thank you for the fast and useful reply, I appreciate it!

What's actually my point is that 'Smart Folder' is hidden under the 'Accounts' tab, while it's not an account. I would prefer 'Smart Folder' having it's own tab at the top of the drawer, this feels more logic and efficient to me.

Currently, when I'm e.g. in the 'Sent' folder of account #4 and like to go back to 'Smart Folder: (set as 'home') first I need to click 'open drawer' then 'Accounts' then 'Smart Folder' that's quite a long way, while I'd prefer to 1 click from any location back to 'Smart Folder', as it's my main page

Perhaps this option can be set somewhere but I haven't been able to find it yet.

Best regards from the Netherlands. :)

Hi there.

Thanks I understand. Not convenient though as -Note III- Return button is located bottom-right while 'Smart Folder' is upper left. Especially with an S Pen this is quite flow breaking.

Have  a great day! :)

Some people say that on the Note 3, reaching the upper left corner is too much of a stretch.

Some say reaching the hardware Back button in the lower right is too much.

At least you can turn off the Nav Drawer completely if that's not your cup of tea.

Personally, I hate them, and can substantiate my reasons, but they're "this year's orange" (or maybe it was "last year's" and now it's "material design"... whatever...)

Thanks, best solution indeed just turn that thing of, getting too much naw drawers, nav bars and sidebars, topbars, bottombars anyway. Quality is in the simple things.

Issue solved, thanks again. :)
