Currently Aqua Mail has the option (separately, under WiFi and Mobile Data) to automatically show images when viewing a messages or not to show them. The reason why someone might not want to show images is because they are often used by marketing letters/spammers to track a user. On the other hand, it's quite normal to view messages in full from people you know.
It would be nice if, instead of yes or no, there'd be an option to show images, but only from contacts. :D

Hmm, nice suggestion to use the device's contacts list. Makes sense.
I just really dislike how the list of contacts whose images are trusted is built separately in Gmail and the built-in Email app.

I like contact pics in mail view.

just my 2cents... a better approach would be to disable linked picture display by default, for everyone and on all kinds of networks... i think this is the standard behaviour of most email clients like outlook and gmail and outlook.com, etc... as mentioned above it's to prevent needless bandwidth use and spam/ads tracking.
we have the options to enable linked picture display based on network, which is good (although it's buried deep into the setting), what we need is an option to display only linked pictures with known contacts.
but as i said, it's better to disable by default. better save than sorry.
(if you know how many friends have their accounts hacked?? i wouldn't even display images sent from known contacts by default...)

Good points everyone. Thank you. Will add it to my "todo".

+1 billion!
This is massively important to me because of the spam tracking.

Hi all. I have an unlimited data plan and am normally near a WiFi hotspot, so bandwidth is not normally a concern to me. Personally, I would like to have the option of viewing images for "All Messages", in addition to "Only Contacts" or "Disable Images".
Having tried other email apps, including paid apps, AquaMail is my app of choice. Keep up the great work!

Hi all,
I know it's been a long time coming, but I posted a development build that has this feature:

Please provide feedback in that topic. I'm subscribed to replies there, but not here.
Thanks.
