Title: AquaMail not loading additional emails
Post by: Snoopy on October 08, 2013, 10:41:54 am
Definitely the best email app for Android, but I'm having a slightly perplexing issue that I don't understand.

Folders set to max 10,000 emails and per page set to 5,000.

In AquaMail: my inbox, sent, old inbox and old sent mail, I have roughly 8,500, 5,000, 4,500 and 3,000 emails respectively.

However, whenever I go to load an additional 5,000 emails, AquaMail simply refreshes and syncs but doesn't add any additional emails to the page? Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening.

Utilising: IMAP through Godaddy on Android 4.3 Galaxy Note III. I have over 10,000 emails in each folder on the server.

Thank you for your help

I'm also using AquaMail Pro if that makes any difference.

When I hear the word "GoDaddy", I reach for my asbestos suit.

Sorry to be so blut, and wish I had a better answer for you, however:

GoDaddy's IMAP server is very buggy, I've already investigated a couple of cases similar to yours in detail, based on debug logs sent by very kind and patient users. What I discovered is that their mail server can fail to report any info on messages that it claims are there, which is pretty much what you're describing.

For example, the mail server first says there are 1000 messages in a folder. AquaMail starts iterating through those messages: first 951-1000, then 901-950, and so on (more or less). The server is then supposed to return information about 50 messages per command. GoDaddy's just doesn't, until the app gets further down the list, say, to 801, or 601 or something.

Feel free to capture this issue in a debug log as described below, but I'm not hopeful.
