Since i''m using your great email client also as "Pure Messenger Widget" it would be soo great if there were an integration of your client in the widget.
At the moment it supports 2 other clients but not yours.
Would be so fine if you could contact the "pure" developers if you could integrate it. As they wrote on their website they are interested in integrating other clients as well. So there is a good chance when you are interested as well.

What's different about it compared to my app's built in widgets?

I dont want a seperate widgets for all functions. Like on my Nokia N9 where i had a "social Hub" all the news i want are in one widget on one screen. So there are sms, calls, twitter, facebook, and email too would be great!

I agree with Stefan. Here are the main differences between your app's built in widget and Pure Messenger Widget:
- Pure Messenger: widget shows ALL or ANY MIX of emails, messages, twitter, facebook, etc (see Stefan's post)
- Pure Messenger: scrollable widget with most alternative launchers like ADW, LiveHome, Go Launcher Ex or LauncherPro (I have Gingerbread with ADW launcher and your widget does not scroll)
Pure Messenger is similar to Executive Assistant, but much better :-)

I requested the integration also on puremessengers uservoice channel, and the developer marked it as "under review! Would be fine if you could work together cause your apps are 2 of my favourites apps!

Hello,
Your Aqua Mail is the best mail client for Android, but has one weak point: cannot work with Pure Messenger. I am keen on that widget because it has many options that your widget does not have: one can read an email directly on the home screen without opening the mail app, there is also the possibility to delete, forward, mark as read directly from the widget, you can combine a few sources of information on one screen, you can change skins. Now I am forced to use the k9 which has only 1 advantage: works with pure messenger. Is there any possibility to add an integration with that widget? Or maybe you could modify your widget to do that things? I would really love to use these two apps together.

Ok I have left the Pure messenger and use only AquaMail with an in-built widget. I have an Android 2.3, so I'm still missing the possibility of scrolling the mail list, but my smartphone is going to be blessed with an upgrade to 4.1, so for now I can live without the scrolling. Nethertheless I would be happy to see a few improvements of the widget:
- a contact image on the left side of each email (so it would remain the look of the Pure Messenger)
- possibility of changing the font size/color

Hi,
i saw that aquamail is integreated in executive assistant. Its similar to the mentioned pure messenger widget, but not as good as pure. The design is unfortunately very poor.
PLEASE, talk to the developer of pure messeger widget to integreat your great app in the widget! :-[

Thank you. The update had some issues, I'm in the process of fixing them now.
AquaMail has a unified way for all those notification type apps to integrate.
I can share the details with any developer who wishes to work with me.

The feature request currently has 24 votes on the Messenger website so I'm not sure if this is even on Francois's radar right now. :-[
If anyone wants to then adding votes here (http://pureapps.uservoice.com/forums/81293-pure-messenger-widget/suggestions/3689327-support-integration-for-aquamail) might be helpful. It only takes a few seconds to sign up and you can drop three votes on to it right from the get go.

I am the Pure messenger dev ;)
My app need more than notifications to work.
I need an API to :
- read message list with id, subject, summary, sender, date
- read full message body HTML/text (display in internal viewer on user action)
- actions : mark as read, delete, reply
- an ACTION_VIEW implementation to open an aqua mail message directly in your app ;)
I you already have something available for this, I'll be glad to receive a documentation and start working with you.
If not, are you ready to work on this ?

Current limitations of the API :
- no read flag
- no attachement flag
- no way to get full HTML content
- no reply possible from the widget
- display only unread messages.
account management is OK.
email listing, mark as read and delete are OK.
automatic refresh is OK.
if you have any trouble beside those, please let me know.
Waiting for kostya to move forward now ;)

At the moment its not possible to open the new mail with Aquamail instead of the internal viewer. Just a message like "Problem with app" pops up.

By the way, AquaMail is really the best email app I used since a long time (beside Gmail app of course ;).

And YES, thats the reason why i were so eager for the implementation of Aquamail to your app! ;)
Btw. like you know i really like your app, the only thing i dont like o much is the design of the inapp preview/viewer its, please dont get me wrong, a little bit outdated. Would be great if you could refresh it a little bit if there is a little bit of time in future. e.g. a half translucent popup or a popup where you can see through the background but blurred out, or a card design like g-now. But, like i say, just a little suggestion for the future. At the moment iam happy with your work on the Aquamail integration :D

I did have the widget crash on me after just a few minutes but I guess that's what one gets for being cutting edge!
Also, is there any chance you could bring back the same images for an email that AquaMail displays, as opposed to the generic head icon?
The app icon also nerds to change to reflect AquaMail as the source.
Also, a small bug: when I went back into the widget settings I had to unselect then reselect the email checkbook before I could change any of the accounts.

For what It's worth, I dl'ed the widget and it can detect aqua-mail, but it then in never loads any messages. After checking, it blanks out the accounts that I selected from Aqua-Mail in the widget itself. I still have all three of my mail slots, but the names have disappeared from the "email provider" section in the Widget config - if that helps anyone! I do love Pure Messenger, and Aqua mail and hope this gets coordinated soon!

Yeah, that's what I was talking about above. If you uncheck AquaMail as the provider then recheck it then you should be good to go with the slots.

Are you then able to view your emails? , the b3 version still blanks then out again after I close the configuration options. Basically I'm never able to view my aquamail messages in the widget. I can try again, but the widget also seemed to crash my gvoice app also fwiw.

Yes, although it's not yet ready for prime time. Emails are showing through from my Smart Inbox.
