Title: Push doesn't seem to be working on newer Android versions
Post by: Alexharris on November 17, 2016, 12:07:11 pm
On this phone my MS Exchange account does not push email to the device,  I have to manually update.
I have tried removing and readding the account.

On an older Android phone  with a different IMAP account,  I have no problem.

Is this a known issue?

You connection to that MS Exchange account is via EWS, not IMAP, right?
There is no PUSH yet in the "release" version on Google Play yet.

If you want PUSH under exchange (EWS), - you can use this "stable" version:
https://www.aqua-mail.com/download/AquaMail-market-1.6.2.9-22.apk
Note that it is enabled only if you have a paid "Pro" version of Aquamail.

Just in case: Once the new version will be released to Google Play, you would be able to update to it as usually, even if you install this "stable" version.

With EWS, yes. I will try the alternative verison.

Regarding push on IMAP, should that work?

If your MS Exchange server provides access via IMAP as well, and they have PUSH enabled on the server, then yes, it will work.

Sorry, wrong version.

Push support for Exchange (EWS) accounts was added in versions 1.6.4-dev, available in Google Play here:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/org.kman.AquaMail

Push for IMAP has been there all along, and it is possible to connect to Exchange over IMAP, but you won't get calendar sync or auto-complete from server contacts.
