here the summary based on users desire,
I added the column with Kostya approval, so we can know what will be accepted or not :D
This topic is the summary of features request, so you can ask here of open specific topics under general "Feature requests", I will extract and I will add a row in the table list.
Thanks

Please include
- implementing user defined rules to handle incoming mail like Thunderbird (delete or move certain emails based on user criteria)
- ability to move selected messages to other folders on the device.
These will cement AM as the best android email agent!
-
-Swiping right to delete email.
-Swiping left to reply.
-Option to do that with or without confirmation
-Option to hide the icons on the lower part of the screen (show, hide, only show the three dots), because all can be done via swiping.

Hi,
can you explain better what do you would like to implement?
- rules, are is a instruction to manage incoming email based on settings?
- move, transfer from to other folder, in Aquamail?
thanks

More suggestions :
Priority : medium
In menu "built-in contact picker", when trying to insert a group in TO or CC (and not BCC), highlight the label "Insert group into" in red and bold (as an alert)
Priority : medium
ability to hide the message size, in message list, to have more space for title
-
Low priority:
Ability to assign colours for Folders in the same way as for accounts (Common/Custom/Exact).
-
Medium priority:
Ability to assign an identity name (along with "your name" and "email" in "new identity: simple setup" screen), that will be shown while choosing the identity in composing a new message.
Currently, all identities are defined by their "your name" field only, and that is really annoying if you wish to use several identities for the same account, with the same information to be sent (i.e."your name"), except signature.
K9 has resolved that issue by adding an "identity name" as a key field to identify the identity.

There was a thread about it

The first is the ability for the user to create user defined rules like "if email contains xyz, then delete" or "if email sender is xyz then delete or mark in this color or move to z folder"
The second is ability to copy or move an email message to x folder on the Android device.

Exactly. That would be a killer capability in android.

Feature Request : priority medium
Select default font of out going mails in rich text editor.

Feature Request : priority medium
Select default font of out going mails in rich text editor.
so, you would like to select the default font to use composing a new message?
thanks
-
Select default font :
When I send a message using Aqua-Mail, the font used is the standard one defined by my device ("Roboto sans serif" for instance). I noticed that this is not true when answering an email that was sent by a correspondant using Outlook. The message (the answer) will be sent using a "serif" font.
That's why I am asking the ability to choose the default font used by Aqua-Mail in composing a message ("Serif", "sans serif" and "mono"). I am sure that Kostya understands well the issue (related to html use in composing messages).
Thanks to all

I can extend your desire, we could select default font for messages, from a list, so you can use a special one in your interface and system and one different to write email...
-
With pleasure. Extending the font choice would be great for "message list"!

you are very voracious ;)

Another request:
Size of header information shall be changeable (fonts too big):
Example: The header of the app is always written in quite big letters. Starting the app it´s the headline "AuqaMail Pro". Editing a single mail the headline displays the mailadress of the chosen mailaccount.
Of course the list of mailaccounts or single mail content can be changed in font size. But not the headline.
Please consider this functionality in further development.

Can you implement ability to create template of a message or at least "save as" of draft (may be as a long press of existing save button)
Another feature you may consider is to make aquamail identify numbers in message body and attach tel: link to
-
Soadfan: identifying numbers and direct link to telephone is already implemented. Look in parameters (user interface or messages)

I have a minor request: make the blue @-icon in the Android notification bar white (like most Android 4.4-compatible apps nowadays). That will look a lot better on my devices :)
Or a config option if people disagree with me.

yes, good idea :P
I hope Kostya can fix...

The ability to send a different email as an attachment. This is an Outlook feature that I miss.
I'm not so sure that I'd want to have emails selectable by a file manager. It's hard enough to keep track of emails in the app. When people ask for this, do they really mean to have email message files mixed in a folder with other files, or do you want to present the emails to a file manager as if they were files so we can organize them more efficiently with the file manager and so Kostya does not have to give AquaMail all the features of a file manager?

I love this request, I add it to the long list for two reasons:
1) we need to achieve absolute perfection
2) We have a duty to ensure Kostya in a project that goes on for another ten years

Moving to next/previous mail with volume buttons. This makes one-handed email reading on a phone so much easier.

After having problems with the default mail app on my S4 I gave Aquamail a whirl. Very nice and fast! The SAMSUNG default mail app sometimes did not load mail from my gmail account. AQUAMAIL loaded the mail lightning fast even when the default mail app did work at all!
Feature request:
01) I have quite a few mails that I don't read (backups) just move. So it would be nice to mark manually moved mail as read automatically via an option in the set-up.
02) This leads to nr. 2 of course and that would be rules, just like in APPLE Mail, except they should actually work....... ;-)

updated list :P

All-in-all, I'm pretty satisified.
I would like to propose and second these new features. I've ranked them in order of my personal preference. Please consider them. Thank you.
- Change signature fonts or paste in css (I'm trying to mirror my work Outlook signature)
- Set a default move to folder (suggested by madasnirp)
- Move the "star" icon to the "three dot" popup so that it does not conflict with the message header expansion error (I accidentally star messages due to big fingers)
- Make the blue icon in the Android notification bar white (suggested by aquatix)
- Swiping right to delete (suggested by dirkliesenfeld)
- Disable contact pictures (suggested by Fcasoli) --- However, I do like that you can long press and click the picture to select more than one email. There would probably need to be the picture boxes or something similar on long-press to maintain this.

Screen optimization on mobile is critical because of screen size, so this should be relatively important: There does not seem to be a way to scroll or disable the message subject line at the top of each message in the message view. This means some 'wasted' space in portrait view and a significant amount of wasted space in the landscape view. Please allow us the opportunity to scroll the message subject: so that we maximize the amount of screen space when we are viewing a message.

I guess Google Wear would be a good idea because more watch makers will (hopefully) use that for their smartwatches

This is not entirely related to the previous conversation, but could you implement a feature so I can tell where a hyperlink will take me before I go there.
I was thinking of something like a touch and hold to bring up the actual URL that it's pointing to. This would really help to spot fishing mails.
Apologies if this has already been requested or even implemented - I couldn't see it.

The build 1.3.26.32 fixed the issue of "serif" font when forwarding or replying to a message received from an outlook server.
Messages are now always sent and displayed with "Sans serif" font (the standard font used by Android devices).
THANK YOU VERY MUCH Kostya.
Having tested so many other client apps, I can tell that really very few of them have solved that issue. Especially in professional environment, it is very important to use always the same font, and now AquaMail can do this for messages sent by the app, and when answering emails received from Gmail / Yahoo / Outlook/etc. servers.
Choosing a dedicated font for AquaMail (Serif / Sans Serif / monotype) is a nice to have feature. Let's keep it for another enchancement stage.
