Title: Can't set up Gmail no matter what I try...
Post by: sumstead on January 06, 2014, 10:48:15 pm
Android 4.4, Nexus 7 tablet, tried everything I possibly could. All I get is "Error connecting" for both incoming and outgoing servers. Automatic setup, manual setup, even tried using googlemail.com as the domain, nothing. Just trying to use personal Gmail on my tablet, nothing special. What am I doing wrong?

I have the Gmail app and K-9, both work fine, but I'd rather use Aqua Mail. IMAP is enabled on the Gmail website, always has been (I IMAP it with my iPhone Mail app as well.)

If you go into Settings, at the bottom there's a Debug menu option. Select that and check the Debug Logging box. I'd place the file at the root of the SD card myself then try to connect and then email the resulting log file to Kostya at  kmansoft / at sign / gmail / dot-com so he can take a look and see what's what.

Please try 1.3.9 from here:

Could be an IPv6 issue (will the wonders of Android never cease?)
