On my Note 4 unread counter (Apex) appears for 1 second when I switch on the screen, after disappear.
Apex launcher
Apex Notifier
Android 4.4.4
Unread counter works well with Note 3 and Android 4.4.2.
I think is Apex issue.

1 - Apex requires that any app using its unread count be installed *after* Apex itself.
At least it did until recently -- maybe the developer changed it (I have been asking users to ask him).
2 - Aqua does not need any additional configuration -- but I've heard about Apex (or was it Nova), automatically pre-configuring settings for Samsung Email.
Removing this assignment made Aqua work again.
-
Did you check Apex settings? You need to enable "External notifiers" in its "Advanced" setting (I may be a bit fuzzy on the exact labeling, but that's the idea).
-
Yep.
-
Not working with Note 4 and the setup is the same I have in Note 3. I removed Aqua and installed again. Not better. 4.4.4 is not a friend.

Could it be that placement of icons on new mail was changed?
-
>> Could it be that placement of icons on new mail was changed
Are you asking about Aqua or Apex? Which icons, where?
-
Sorry, composition icons from AquaMail.
-
>> composition icons
??????
The rich text formatting bar -- bold, italic, font, color?
Yes, those are new too. Perhaps could use larger alpha value (reducing or getting rid of partial transparency).
-
I mean this.
-
Yes.
-
It was because of the overflow?
-
Not sure I understand what you're asking.
The action bar in the compose window has always been like this -- along the bottom -- by default -- there is a setting (under composing and sending) to move it to the top.
-
Could be because I changed phone then. :P
-
A little too bright for my taste. :P
-
But what is "the issue"?
Icons along the bottom -- has been like that forever -- with an option to move to top -- also there forever.
What *is* "the issue"?
Dark icons?
-
I didn't have the overflow icon before (the three dots at the end) and that changed the disposition a little.
-
Does your new phone have a hardware Menu button?
If it does, the overflow (three dots) won't show here -- but will still show in the "Contextual Action Bar", when you select one or more messages in a message list.
-
It has a hardware button but anyway it shows there. Strange. :/
It's a OnePlus One with Cyanogen CM11S (based on AOSP 4.4.4).
-
The icon bar in the compose window is provided by Android system code.
Please contact OnePlusOne and/or CM if bothers you.
-
Sorry, this question is not new, but how can I filter starred message only? All starred, read, unread...
I cannot with actual structure of filtering.
Thanks

Thanks Paris, it is a solution to gain the result.
I hope to filter in the future.
I think some arguments are open when Kostia will can develop:
Filtering
Top and bottom color in smart list, customized colors
Print option with complete format

> user setting to customize top and bottom bar colors
Kostya, asked so gently, one cannot refuse (unless there are technical reasons, and after finishing OAuth)
;)
User settings? In graphic options I find theme, festive colors but I do not like blue, so I use light color, but I would like simple white or custom. I intend smart list view, not specific account...

There will be a setting for it.
PS - the new Gmail app is *red* :)

Not that Google is to trust on design matters. I think material design has some good things and some really bad ones. Color palette is one of the last ones.

Hi dear Kostia, I do not use Gmail since Aquamail, but I updated yesterday to 5.0 version, is is so young, it doesn't support multiple accounts view, poor formatting options...
There is a lot of third parties apps better. Google must learn again.
I wait your palette

I am on the final stretch with OAUTH -- supports @gmail accounts that aren't configured in system settings -- and then I'll spend more time on this Material stuff.

You know that we are living in a material world
And I am a material girl
Except I'm not a girl, last I checked :)

Hi Kostya, thanks for title and bottom bar palette.
If I set pure white icons are hide in smart folder list view.
Maybe beautiful to set background and icons color independently..
-
Sorry, I screwed up your post by mistake -- clicked the wrong button (Modify instead of Reply).

It's very unofficial yet -- want to give it at least 24 hours before even posting here on the forum.
As for an independent setting for icon color -- no.
-
My layout is perfect now! Thanks Kostya!
