Title: Hidden Messages Marked as Read on Server
Post by: jfoster on October 27, 2014, 05:59:32 pm
First off - love the app!  Hope to see Exchange Calendar sync'ing in the future...

I've noticed that when I 'hide, leave on server' unread messages on my mobile (so I can follow up on them later on my laptop), they become 'Read' on the server, making them harder to find in my laptop's Inbox.

Was this done by design (to reconcile Unread counts, for example)?  Or am I doing something wrong?

I'm sync'ing Exchange (EWS).

Thanks,
Jim

There is a technical reason on my side too, has to do with having to track and adjust the number of unread messages, to show in the app's UI. Sorry.

I also love this app. And one of the features I liked most was that hidden mails weren’t marked as read on server when the setting  was Settings -> message view -> mark messages as read -> "never automatically". At least that was what happened in the previous version of the app. Now whenever I mark a mail hidden it’s marked as read on server. Is there a way around this???
Thank you!!!

I use the same settings and the same emails as before. I took a look and it's Imap. I'm sure that before the update hidden mails weren't marked as read on server. Now they are. For me it's a big problem. I'm using the app for my job and the hidden feature(and not read on server) was one of the reasons why I bought it. It helps a lot to just read email on the road to see if anything is urgent then hide them and look them again at work. Maybe an option on the next update could correct this problem.
thank you!!!

Sorry, but you are wrong. This has not changed for three years or so.
