As per topic,
I have a work email account, running on Exchange. (userA@domainA. com)
I have access to a shared mailbox on exchange. (Shared@domainB. com)
When i add shared@domainB. com into the "EWS" shared folder settings (under account setup, Manual), the emails from shared@domainB. com appears in the same inbox as UserA@domainA. com
i.e. 1 single inbox containing emails from both accounts.
I can't seem to find the settings to split them into 2 separate inboxes.
Anyone has any tips?
The work around to add shared@domainB. com as an IMAP account proved to be too complicated, as the shared mailbox is on a different domain.
Copy and Paste from Online Source:
"How to connect with IMAP – EVEN FOR MULTIPLE DOMAINS
Exchange Configuration:
USER EMAIL: user@maindomain. com
PASSWORD: password
SHARED MAILBOX: shared@anotherdomain. com (could also be @domain.com, of course)
SHARED MAILBOX ALIAS: shared-mailbox
Note: Please make sure to create the UNIQUE alias always with the mailbox, because it creates the user [alias]@maindomain. com. In this case shared-mailbox@maindomain. com
Settings for IMAP Configuration:
EMAIL ADDRESS: shared@anotherdomain. com (shared mailbox)
IMAP SERVER: outlook.office365. com
SMTP SERVER: smtp.office365. com
USERNAME: user@maindomain. comshared-mailbox (usershared mailbox alias)
PASSWORD: password (user’s password)
SMTP LOGIN IS DIFFERENT (!)
USERNAME: user@maindomain. com (users email)
PASSWORD: password (user’s password)"
I do not have admin access to do the "Mailbox Alias"

Well, when you use a "shared mailbox" settings in Aqua -- it will specific that mailbox in every single folder type command that it sends to the server.
In other words, the merged content is -- I'm quite certain -- what Aqua gets from the mail server.
You may want to take this up with your company's "computer people".
And if there are any users reading this who also use a "shared mailbox" -- feel free to chime in, as I don't personally have an account like that (with a shared mailbox).

I miss that feature about shared mailboxes too. Evolution supports that by having a context menu on the account with "Subscribe to folder of other user...". That adds a subfolder "Foreign Folders" on the account.
You could look at the Evolution implementation of it: https://github.com/GNOME/evolution-ews/blob/master/src/configuration/e-ews-subscribe-foreign-folder.c (https://github.com/GNOME/evolution-ews/blob/master/src/configuration/e-ews-subscribe-foreign-folder.c)
PS.: Sorry, I was talking about the EWS shared folders, not the IMAP one that I don't know.
I should better create a separate Feature Request?

Sorry we don't have this feature and don't think we will in any foreseeable future.
Oh and thanks for the link to Evolution source code - but it's not that we wouldn't know how to code this...

Hi again, I asked this again some years after this thread, now it seems to be possible: https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=7905.0
