https://kman.mobi/download/UpdateChecker-release-0.1-7.apk
https://kman.mobi/download/UpdateChecker-0.1-9.apk
If you have a version before 0.1-9 installed already - you will need to uninstall and install 0.1-9 (or later if there are any).
Fully unofficial, spare time project.

The new updater doesn't seem to recognize that I have aquamail installed..... In fact, I have the latest 1.17 version installed. It does not matter if I check stable or developmental.

Same issue with me.
Installed version: 1.17.0.1318-stable

New "update checker" for Aqua Mail forum builds:
Unfortunately it doesn't work, both, stable and beta aren't showing anything.
Also please add into main page channel indication and into settings option to disable check interval (for example 0) and updater himself update check too.
-
- Not seeing installed Aqua Mail - fixed in 0.1-2 posted above
- Other ideas - noted, will have to wait until next weekend
- Will also add "either" (stable / beta) update check "channel"
-
- Not seeing installed Aqua Mail - fixed in 0.1-2 posted above
It's working fine now 8)
-
Above - version 0.1-3
Added "both" (stable / beta) update check "channel" setting - will use the newer one, whichever it is (if any is newer than installed, right now there isn't).
BTW - we'll start posting 1.18-dev very soon...
-
Thanks!

The updates app now does not recognize that version 1.18 is installed....

Re: The updates app now does not recognize that version 1.18 is installed....
Oh right! Looking at it.
-
Fixed in 0.1-4 posted above, thanks!
-
That was fast!! Thank you!
-
New version 0.1-5 above
- Enabled support for "long" screens (Samsung S8 / S9, similar LGs, other modern phones)
- Enabled option to strip unused code, the .apk is now ~600 kilobytes vs. ~1.2 megabytes before, still seems to work :)
-
New version 0.1-6 above
Added a setting to turn off automatic (scheduled, background) update checks / notifications

Hello Kostya,
is it possible to include a version info in the header of the app?

Hello Kostya,
is it possible to include a version info in the header of the app?
Version of the update checker itself?

Hello Kostya,

Hi -- added in 0.1-7, the info shows in the footer, the new version is in the header.

Version of the update checker itself?
Yes that's what I meant
-
Not working again now that there is a new beta version 1.19
-

Yes, true. Source code is available, but I'm afraid that only Kostya can fix it.
-
I assume, with Kostya's departure, that this Update Checker is now defunct and that I should uninstall it from my handset?
-
The update checker needs a file (files actually) on this web server to know there is a new version.
I assume that MS has changed the apk release / upload process somehow - and those files are not getting updated.
( I used to use a script, i.e. it was automated - maybe they're doing it differently now )
Stable version:
https://www.aqua-mail.com/download/xversion-AquaMail-market.txt
Beta version:
https://www.aqua-mail.com/download/xversion-AquaMail-market-beta.txt
As you can see, the information in both has gone stale.

If you'd like to see this fixed - please contact support@aqua-mail.com. Feel free to refer them to to this post.
They can again start updating these files as part of their .apk upload process and the update checker will work again.
But it's their decision if they'll make changes or not.

As they have not responded to this thread, so clearly they don't care and they will not make any changes.

The thread had been 'dormant' for a few months and only came 'alive' again yesterday. You can't expect instant replies - especially since Kostya is no longer involved. In addition, Kostya suggested you email support. Have you done that? And again, don't expect a reply instantly. You're not the only one contacting them.
-
The "stable" file has just been updated to the current 1.20 - and the update checker should see that.
Don't know how long this will last (i.e. future builds), but...

I believe that Kostya's comment was directed at me (as I was the one who resurrected the thread), and yes, I did email them yesterday evening (UK time).

Actually they have never replied in this thread and I was referring to my previous message (February 26, 2019, 23:18:31)...

Kostya, the link doesn't work anymore:

Thank you @mikeone - I just uploaded a new one
https://kman.mobi/download/UpdateChecker-0.1-9.apk
Unfortunately I lost its signing keys - meaning that if you have an older version installed, it's necessary to do a complete uninstall / reinstall (of 0.1-9). Just once.
Don't know if I'll be maintaining this, probably not, but I uploaded my build scripts and signing keys to GitHub - so anyone can fork and make builds.

Great, thanks a lot. :)
