Title: More secure mode for servers with sensitive data
Post by: bigears on December 21, 2012, 12:48:44 pm
I have several IMAP accounts, one of these holds emails with sensitive information that I would like to keep secure.

I don't consider that the Android platform is very secure, particularly if my phone is lost or stolen.

I would prefer that particular accounts are only accessed manually and that the IMAP password must be entered manually for these accounts and not stored on the phone.

I would also prefer that emails from these accounts are not saved in the phone (temporary caching is OK but not saved to the flash file system).

Hi,

Your suggestions make sense, but implementing them would make the app to no longer be a mail app, at least with regards to this account.

Take away message caching, and require entering your account's password every time -- and it's starting to look to me like web mail, accessed with the device's browser.... ???
