---

+ Design changes in message view (very small)

+ Maybe (?) made contact lookup in Gmail corporate accounts work.

Requires the account to be present in the phone's Settings / Accounts, and for Contact sync there to be enabled.

I don't have access to a corporate Gmail account, did my testing using Office 365, if it doesn't work will need help to investigate.

+ Exchange contact sync: still there.

Please see this older post for details:

https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=5478.0

+ Build 232: Message auto-fit was broken, fixed; Added setting for "message list divider color".

+ Build 233: Undo panel is now "tap-able" anywhere, not necessary to hit exactly the "arrow" to trigger undo.

+ Build 240: translation updates (AR, FR).

+ Build 241: the "when" in message list is aligned to first line IF 1) message stars are off 2) subject above sender is off

---

https://www.aqua-mail.com/forum/index.php?topic=5478.0

Possible bug: icon bar does not adopt requested color; remains same as message text background. Reinstalled 1.8.2-216; color returned.

Yes, that's the small design change in message view: the bottom icon bar is now light (white), the app's or the account's accent color is still there in the "top bar".

Yikes - assuming change is in accordance with Material guidelines and thus largely unarguable. Initial reaction is unfavorable as delineation between message body (passive area) and icon bar (active area) is too subtle for my tastes. Guess we'll have to get use to it.

Re: What's the effect of slim padding in message view? I can't see the difference with before.

Was pretty evident on longer text based emails. Make sure you are in message view vs message list. I made that 'bonehead' mistake on initial inspection. :)

Do you mind posting screenshots showing the difference? I'm unable to see any difference since I don't get long mails in latin characters.
Thanks
So what tools do you use to blur/redact sensitive image content on Android? Just spent way too much time trying different Play Store drawing/photo apps all of which came up short. I can certainly do this on my workstation but not in a position at present to transfer images for this simple task.

Hello All
I have got my work email hosted with gmail server , today I downloaded the apk in the link posted by admin.
Right next to the filed where it say "To" ,,,,where you enter a recipient  email , there is a half human body icon if I click on it there are there things :
Contacts, Groups, Recent.
Under option " Recent' I was able to see most of the employees that are belong to my company domain
Snapshots attached

Nope, that's not it (although if you've recently exchanged messages with other employees, then yes their addresses would be listed there, collected from actual emails).

What about autocompletion right in the input fields? Or search on the Contacts (not Recents) tab?

Can you try an address that's not already listed under Recents?

This is exactly why I requested returning to vertical, or at least give the option to choose between horizontal and vertical.

RE: I tried both , they are not functioning

OK, since I don't have access to a corporate Gmail account (with a contacts directory), can you please make a debug log?

Just enable it as it says here: http://www.aqua-mail.com/?page_id=232 under "Creating a log if something doesn’t work right".

And then bring up the compose screen and type something into the TO field, something that's not going to produce a lot of matches in your Contacts (so the app knows to try and do a server search), a "random" string that'll have no matches is fine.

Re: This is exactly why I requested returning to vertical, or at least give the option to choose between horizontal and vertical.

He meant something else - the icon bar in message view mode, the one below message text, which is now white with a shadow above.

Attached. Note screen grab with v1.9.0-230 was taken without slim padding selected. The comparison with v1.8.2-216 shows that slim (apparently) was the prior default.

Yes, the new version, by default, uses slightly larger padding around message text. This new setting lets one go back to "how it was before".

Thanks for this. I disabled auto-fit following a recent update as it was unreliable in certain orientations.

Separately, would love to see a setting that permits "icon bar color".

Sorry...just had to slip that in given recent changes in v1.9.0-230 :)

"Name in the BCC section"? Or the BCC input field itself, empty?

Is there something in CC or Reply-To?

Can you please clarify?

When I forward a mail with a full bcc part in the sent folder, it automatically adds the same contacts to bcc part

Re: When I forward a mail with a full bcc part in the sent folder, it automatically adds the same contacts to bcc part

Oh, I see. Yes, when it's Sent message it does work that way. Originally it didn't, but then a user or several convinced me that BCC's should be preserved. This was a couple of years ago perhaps, it's not new in this version or even in 1.8.

I think, this is working as intended, because you do not have to re-enter the already selected recipients.

However, it should be possible to empty the field completely as in version 1.7 ("x" on the right end of the bcc field).

Yes there is no "X" but all the recipient entry fields (at least by default) use "contact chips" so backspacing them out is easy.

@Kostya
There are already a few more requests to bring back the previous behavior or at least the need for a modification of the fields "CC / BCC, Reply-To":

Ghm... Someone might have a use case for that, but to me, it is weird. I wouldn't even look to see that "Bcc:" was preserved, and it would be weird for the original Bcc recepient to receive the same message once again. Why? Only to see that I've forwarded the original message to someone else?

I understand that if I were replying to the message in Sent, then I might want to keep people in Bcc: on that reply. But not on Forward.
(I think I very vaguely remember the discussion, but I don't think it was about Forward, but rather about Reply. I might be wrong though: I might not have seen that thread...)

Kostya, @Ayhan Arhan and myself are also one or several users. Can we convince you that it shouldn't be that way?
 ;)

Re: Kostya, @Ayhan Arhan and myself are also one or several users. Can we convince you that it shouldn't be that way?

No, because if we make that change, there will be "one or several users" - other users - who will complain about it.

IMO it would be easier to delete an already existing / preserved list of recipients at once (if the currently missing 'x' will be back) than to reconcile the recipients one by one (if the user really needs them).

Well, I kind of think that too, but not sure what lpetkov thinks about it.

The "all three of CC / BCC / Reply-To visible at once or none at all" to me is a more serious usabilty regression (but maybe I'm wrong).

Synchronization of contact pictures does not work.
If before, I do a sync with my phone software, I see pictures of contacts, and also sees Aquamail them.

But if I start from scratch, with the phone clean, Aquamail only download the data without the images.

Why ?

What contact pictures? In an Exchange account?

For contact pictures, Aqua Mail needs Exchange 2010 or newer, I suspect your Exchange server is an earlier version.

Feel free to capture Aqua Mail's "contact sync" process in the app's debug log (the link is in my signature, below) and send to kmansoft / at / gmail.

Icons of the "mark read" and so on?

You can't, Google removed icons on those action buttons in 7.

Just text from now on, until their designers decide to change it back in Android 14 I suppose.

Unfortunately, stretched images resurfaced on another device (7" 320 DPI) in portrait orientation as evidenced by attached screen grabs. Not a big deal; I'll just go with auto-fit off.

This not related to the "broken" and "then fixed" auto-fit, at least I don't think it is.

We could investigate if you sent a sample as an .eml attachment (or the message's complete actual source code) to support / aqua-mail.

Sorry there isn't, at least for now.

Basically, at some point Google decide that TV apps should not look like tablet apps, and broke compatibility.

It *may* be fixed in 1.9, but I'm not completely sure,.

Yes, hamburger menu is in "Talon for Twitter".

I have a workaround for import setting and accounts. (Setup Account -> send the backup file via email -> open and import :)).
But the message view don't have the menu at bottom "reply, forward,..." :(

It means the TV's Android code tells Aqua Mail that "there is some other way to bring up the menu".

Maybe something on the remote control? But I don't really know.

The official docs say this:

https://developer.android.com/training/tv/start/layouts.html

Quote
ActionBar - While this user interface convention is recommended for use on phones and tablets, it is not appropriate for a TV interface. In particular, using an action bar options menu (or any pull-down menu for that matter) is strongly discouraged, due to the difficulty in navigating such a menu with a remote control.

ActionBar is that "thick color area along the top with the app name and icons and three dots on the right" (which is missing for you).

So basically Google wants everyone to build custom UI's of their apps, that don't look like those on tablets / phones. This isn't something we have time to do right now.

I don't have a real one, and the emulator (which I've just now tried to use) seems to lock up -- I can't even run the TV's Settings app.
