I don't have much use for the coloring options currently available and like the AM defaults better. But the one color use I would like is not available (I think).
I would like to have starred messages stand out more clearly by having them have a colored background. Is that possible?

+1
The Star (blue ir white) is not very relevant. Other email clients use yellow star next to recipient address (very good choice) or red pattern.
Decision is yours, Kostya

I vote for a colored background but could go with anything that is less easy to overlook.

Yes, highlighting «starred» messages with a specific background color is awesome...
In that case, user will define:
- one background color for unread messages
- another background color for read messages
- a background color for «starred» messages, either they are read or unread

Simulation: first screenshot is current AquaMail (with blue stars for "starred" messages)
Second screenshot with using a chosen color for "starred" messages.
The grey background (chosen by user) is for unread message. White background (chosen also by user) is for read ones.
Thank you again Kostya for your attention. :D

Bravo Paris Geek. That would be great.

Four possibilities to mark "starred" messages, the last one being current AquaMail.
Dear users, what's your preferred one?
Yellow background for "starred" messages, grey for unread, white for read.
All colors are customizable.

#1. Currently highlighted in yellow background.
Incidentally, most of the available color choices are strong primary colors which when used for background make the text hard to read. Less intense colors would be better for backgrounds.

I vote for #1 colored background
