Title: Local folders for POP3 accounts
Post by: Stuart James on January 11, 2013, 02:33:11 pm
Would it be possible to add local sub-folders for POP3 accounts?

Thanks.

Yeah I would love this as well. I hate that I have to log into my email via a Web site and clean up my inbox and then "lose" all that mail on my tablet.

I could use my pc for this but seeing as I use my tablet much more then my pc I would rather have the folders on the tablet.

Pop3 has no concept of folders, so any email not in the Inbox on the server would be invisible to the app.

This isn't a AquaMail problem, more of a
limitation of the Pop3 mail protocol.

Or are you asking for the ability to create local folders that would on be visible to AquaMail that you could then move email into?

There are no plans for local, on device, in-app folders.

As far as I'm concerned, POP3 is "yesterday", and "today" is IMAP (which provides server folder access). Yes, I know it depends on the email provider, still, that's my view of things.

Easier access to server folders for IMAP (as-needed, rather than syncing all the time) is coming in the next release, development build posted on the forum in its own section.
