Title: Why can't I see the older messages?

Hi all,
Couldn't find what I was looking for so I started this thread.
In the beginning when I used aquamail all my messages in the inbox where visible (even from 2 years ago) but now only messages less than a month old are visible, the rest is gone. This bothers me because sometimes I need to look into an older message and can't find it on my tablet or smartphone.
Any ideas how to solve this?

Ps I put messages to sync at 5000 and messages to cache at 10000

Is this a Hotmail account by any chance? If so, please see this:

Other than that, please check web mail to see what (how many roughly) messages actually exist there.

Also please check the per-account settings (for "messages to sync" / "messages to cache"), long press on the account -> options and folders -> account options.

Please note that Exchange accounts, when push is enabled, require a "messages to sync" set to some "date based" value (e.g. "X number of days" not "X number of messages").
