Copy and Paste Email Text
« on: January 21, 2016, 05:44:15 pm »
Can't find a specific answer to this which amazes me but I'm using the Chromebook version of Aquamail and I cannot cut and paste any email dialog from the email window. Is there a way to do this?? Very frustrating.

Could you, please, describe what actually happens?
You cannot choose the text or it doesn't copy the text you've chosen?
(And I assume you meant COPY and paste, right? )

When I move my cursor over the email text and click the track pad there is no option to cut or copy. In fact when I scroll over the text it wont even highlight it.

I don't own a cromebook, but what you described sounds like a function (and possibly a limitation) of the OS and its UI. AFAIK, Aquamail relies on the system libraries for this type of functions.
Kostya might know more about Chromebook specifics.

In incoming messages?

First, email addresses should be highlighted.

Second, you can long press one and you'll get a popup menu.

I'm attaching a screenshot.

If this is a Chrome OS specific issue -- please remember that the "Chrome OS version of AquaMail" is really the Android version, and it runs "inside" emulated Android which is provided by Chrome OS.

As such, any discrepancies found in Chrome OS vs. "real" Android need to be reported to Google so they can fix the Android emulation in Chrome OS.

I guess this means that Chrome OS has its own "UI patterns" for interacting with its native software.

Um, sorry, AquaMail is an Android app still, even though it runs on Chrome OS (or more exactly, "runs on Android which in turns runs in Chrome OS") through some Google created magic.

As such, its UI patterns (long press or whatever) are from Android too.
