Sporadic notifications

I am having issues with notifications, Aqua Mail 1.5.9.13 Pro, however the problem was present even in previous versions.
I have both visual and sound notifications for e-mails, but sometimes they show up sometimes they don't.

It's like I will get the notification icon in the notification center plus sound played, and then there are times that no notification is performed and I will open up Aqua Mail and there will be 10 e-mails waiting for me from both accounts being checked.

Any ideas please?

It seems that you already have been notified about these "10 e-mails waiting for me" by AquaMail prior.

Please check and try out the following options in your settings:

> Settings > Message notifications >
° Notify about ... "All unread" or "New unread" messages
° Only when new messages ... enable/disable
° Only when there are changes ... enable/disable

Unfortunately I haven't...it's like those messages appeared out of nowhere...

These are my settings...and I have tried almost every combination that you have suggested...

To summarize your issue:

You have got no notification about (new) unread messages. However, when opening AquaMail you will see some messages marked as unread.

If this is not your specific problem please describe the situation in detail.

Another option to investigate further is to log into your web mail and check the unread count there.

If necessary, mark all read, I mean "all" including old messages.

Yes you understood the problem perfectly.

So let's say I get an e-mail notification that I have new e-mails (sound, notification center and lock screen), I check them and 2 hours later I randomly open Aqua Mail (without any notifications given, so nothing in the notification bar or a sound being played or nothing on the lockscreen) and find X unread e-mails in the Smart Folder.

So it's almost impossible to do any testing as the problem seems to be completely random...I haven't been able to figure out what is the cause as to why no notification given and there are unread e-mails.
And I have played with the options you listed before, turning them on/off.

Paris Geek, AM is the only e-mail client I have set-up on the phone.

Mikeone, let me pay attention to when it happens and I will let you know...but as far as I remember yes.

Here's an example of it happening...I had no idea I had that 1 unread message.
So neither notification on the top in the notification center, neither on lock screen or a sound.

Um, well, unfortunately a screenshot of "how it looks after it happend" doesn't tell me anything about "how it actually got into that state".

Are there any observable patterns? With regards to actual messages, their number, senders, anything?

Are you using "unified" Smart Folder notifications (app settings -> Smart Folder -> "Use for notifications") or the default per-account notifications?

What about app settings -> message notifications -> notify about -> "new" or "all unread"?

I had a instance today where the phone screen lit up (it's set to do so on a new notification) and there was a visual new mail notification on the lock screen, however the mail notification sound wasn't played at all.

Hmmm...

1 - Perhaps you could try capturing the issue (the "no notifications at all" one) in the app's debug log? If you could just enable it (with "raw session data" please) and keep it enabled until the issue happens, and then note the time (give or take) and then send me the log file. Please see my signature below for step by step instructions.

2 - As an alternative, or maybe after you send me the log, could you try turning off "use smart folder for notifications" to see if the issue goes away?

Just e-mailed Kostya...have installed it and will test it out, but I am sure it will be ok.
